The Town of Stratford renamed the Farm at Stratford Community Garden yesterday in a ceremony that honors the memory of Soundkeeper’s late founder Terry Backer. The farm is now called the Terry Backer Community Farm of Stratford. Mayor John Harkins and State Rep. Joe Gresko were in attendence along with over 50 Stratford residents and community gardeners to show there support for the community garden as a gathering point for residents interested in growing vegetables, much of which are donated to food pantries for those in need. With over 90 plots and 100+ fruit trees on the property, the Farm is poised with this much support to continue well into the future.
