Long Beach Clean Up

Soundkeeper will be organizing a clean up of Long Beach in Stratford on Sat. Oct. 17 from 9am to 1pm.  The first 10 people to show up will receive a free educational Soundbook!  We will be meeting at 8:45am at the Oak Bluff Avenue parking lot, click on this link for directions:  http://www.lisrc.uconn.edu/coastalaccess/site.asp?siteid=335  Garbage bags and sticks will be provided to us by the Town of Stratford. 

In an unrelated event, Soundkeeper has been selected by Patagonia of Westport to receive a portion of a $5,000 grant based on our local focus and range of environmental concerns.  You can go to Patagonia, located at 87 Post Road East in Westport, between Sept. 24th and Oct. 24th to cast your vote to help Soundkeeper get the largest amount, no purchase is necessary.  Soundkeeper will be having two "Table Days" on Sept. 27th and Oct. 10th between 12-4pm each day where we will be showing people what we're doing to protect the Sound. 

****Update****  Soundkeeper has won the "Voice your Choice" competition for best local environmental non-profit!  That means we took the largest share of the grant from Patagonia.  Thank you all for your votes!!
